Congrats to Rachel and Carolina on their recent publication in Journal of General Virology!

Congratulations to Rachel Hayes and Carolina Camargo, as well as our collaborators Ahmed Oraby and David Marchant (University of Alberta) who recently published a manuscript from Rachel’s M.Sc. research on Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV). Rachel performed alanine-scanning mutagenesis on the RSV receptor, IGF1R, and identified a mutation that significantly reduced RSV infection. Further analysis revealed that this mutation disrupted a hydrogen bonding network that may be important for both IGF1R maturation and RSV infection. Check it out here:
