We love ice cream! It’s good during any season, it goes with everything, there’s seemingly endless combinations and flavors (and I don’t shy away from a challenge), and it’s hard to keep the smile off your face when you are enjoying a creamy scoop of homemade ice cream. Lactose intolerant? Me too! – don’t worry, all our creations are lactose-free. What’s more, some suspect there may be a mysterious health benefit to ice cream (no really! check out the story here. ). Thus, in the Sagan Lab, ice cream is a summer lab meeting tradition. Here are some of our Sagan Lab Scoops. Check back for our latest creations!
July 19th, 2024: This week’s Lab meeting featured BreannaLandry and Manolya, as well as some Matcha and White Chocolate Ice cream!
July 11th, 2024: Enjoying our coop students’ lab meeting presentations today with some ice cream! Chocolate (Pranjali), Cookie dough (Olivia), and Mint Chocolate Chip (Aaron). A nice cool treat to go with their awesome science!
November 20th, 2023: The team have been working on a video for UBC MicroImmuno’s annual holiday party, and we wrapped filming today with some Cranberry ice cream! 😋
September 14th, 2023: Excited to introduce our new postdoc @JasminLizBaby! We celebrated her arrival with some Chocolate Fudge Brownie ice cream today!
September 1st, 2023: More arrivals this week!! Breanna and Quinn have arrived from Montreal, and a warm welcome to Ronja who is starting her Ph.D. with us this week! Salted caramel, raspberry cheesecake and hazelnut ice creams are a treat on this beautiful sunny day at UBC!

August 1st, 2023: Today marks the 10 year anniversary of the Sagan Lab! While most of the team is still transitioning from Montreal, Manolya arrived today at UBC! We are celebrating with Toasted Black Sesame ice cream! 😋 Can’t wait for the rest of the team to arrive!
